Assessment Structure
The balanced assessment approach ensures students develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. With equal weightage across all components, you'll be evaluated on your understanding of yoga therapy principles, ability to demonstrate techniques, project work, and consistent performance throughout the course.
To successfully complete the diploma, students must achieve a minimum of 50% in each assessment component, demonstrating competence across all aspects of yoga therapy.
Semester 1: Foundation Modules

Module 1: Foundations of Yoga Therapy
Explore the origin and history of yoga therapy, philosophical foundations, and its application in modern healthcare. Study Sankhyayoga components, Bhagavad Gita, and Upanishads to build a strong theoretical foundation.

Module 2: Human Anatomy & Physiology
Understand the skeletal, muscular, circulatory, respiratory, nervous, and endocrine systems. Learn the physiology of exercise and relaxation, and how yoga affects human physiology.

Module 3: Practical – Classical Yoga Techniques
Master loosening practices, basic asanas from various positions, pranayama techniques like Nadishuddhi and Bhramari, and relaxation through Yoga Nidra.

Module 4: Yogic Psychology & Philosophy
Study the Panchakosha theory, Triguna theory, components of mind, yogic view of health, and introduction to chakras and prana.
Semester 2: Advanced Therapeutic Applications

Module 5: Yoga Therapy for Common Disorders
Learn therapeutic approaches for metabolic disorders, cardiovascular issues, musculoskeletal problems, respiratory conditions, digestive issues, and psychological conditions. Understand safety measures and contraindications.

Module 6: Diet and Lifestyle in Yoga Therapy
Study food classification (Satvic, Rajasic, Tamasic), therapeutic diet, yogic lifestyle routines, cleansing practices, and basic Ayurvedic principles relevant to yoga therapy.

Module 7: Practical – Therapeutic Yoga Techniques
Master condition-specific asana and pranayama modules, adaptations using props, advanced therapeutic relaxation and meditation techniques, and clinical skills.

Module 8: Case Studies & Internship
Observe and assist in therapy sessions, prepare detailed case reports, deliver therapeutic sessions under supervision, and complete a final viva voce based on clinical observations.
